the dresser that keeps on giving

15+ years ago, we bought a dresser as part of our matchy-matchy first ever bedroom suite. Of course it was black.

The furniture all seemed dark and heavy with our dark walls and dark carpet, so I painted it green:

That dresser kept living its best life and made me so happy!

Then we moved and our dresser sat in a garage for almost 3 years while we waited to be in our home.

Recently, it finally came out of storage – and y’all – I never painted the sides LOL.

Ooops. And yes, I’ve had Christmas trees out on the dresser for a while. Why not?

After finding the new home for our dresser in our dining room, I knew it needed a refresh since you can ACTUALLY SEE THE SIDES now. And I’ve been wanting to do a different kind of green for years.

Paint Color: Benjamin Moore Green Bay – yes, yes, yes! It reminds me of the Emerald City on The Wizard of Oz.

Little by little, I’ve been painting all week. And I even painted the sides this time.

Almost a year after moving in, our dining room is starting to come together and this statement piece is still making me happy, all these years later. The dresser that keeps on giving happy moments 🙂

Each morning when I turn the corner from our bedroom into the kitchen, this dresser catches my eye and I just smile.
