#thirstythursday / somewhere in the in-betweens of life

the daily Starr thirsty thursday

In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone. – 2 Peter 1:5-7 NLT

Patient endurance.

Something about those words messed me up.

This is the step-by-step plan of how we are to build our faith.

Moral excellence
+
Knowledge

+
Self-control
+
Patient endurance

+
Godliness

+
Brotherly affection

+
Love for everyone

This is what we are called to. This is how we respond to the promises of God.

And somewhere in the waiting, somewhere in the in-betweens of life, we learn the part of patient endurance.

You’re not alone if you’re struggling tonight. I’m clinging to His promises and asking God to show me His ways. They are higher. They are more lovely. They are the broken beautiful that He has to redeem all that has gone wrong.
