To the procrastinators:
It’s ok to decorate your tree on December 15.
It’s perfectly ok to ONLY do the lights in one night because you can.
It’s ok to not get it all done.
It’s ok to stop and have dinner with friends, even when the to-do list is a mile long and it would be easier to put it off.
What if those friends encourage and refill your soul for the days ahead?
It’s ok to sit and look at the lights and slow down in the hurriedness that surrounds this favorite season of mine.
It’s ok to take it one day at a time.
It’s ok to remember that perfection is overrated and simple is satisfying.
It’s ok to let the little boy with his favorite blankie fall fast asleep in your arms because babies don’t keep.
Wherever you find yourself tonight, be there and be content. This season may not look at all like you expected, and that is ok.
May the hope and joy of Christmas find you right where you are.
