#givingTuesday / how not to steal sweet peas

Today I’m thankful for parents who taught me honesty.

While unloading my car in the Sam’s parking lot, I realized that I had completely forgotten to scan the case of sweet peas hiding out in the bottom of my cart.

OH MY GOODNESS I STOLE PEAS ON #GIVINGTUESDAY!!

I could not even believe myself.

All I could imagine was the security people chasing me down in the parking lot because they probably knew I did not have those peas on my checkout page in the Sam’s App.

I’ve never run so fast back into Sam’s in my life.

Thankfully I scanned the peas and explained myself to the kind checkout associate. She gave me a smile and a genuine thank you.

Lesson for the day – it’s better to give than to steal. ALWAYS.

Also – it’s never too late to give back. How about we not just give on Tuesday, but we create a life of serving others and giving back?

Our local church has several opportunities coming up to serve those in need in the Monroe area. I’d love for you to join us.

If you’re not local – reach out to a church or shelter this week and ask how you can help. There are more opportunities than we can imagine.
