This is my favorite place to be.
And by far my favorite family {TRADITION}.
Each Thanksgiving Eve you’ll find us at Helms Christmas Tree Farm in Vale, NC. In my opinion, this is the very best choose and cut tree farm you’ll find in all of NC.
Yep, that’s Mr. Helms himself driving the Christmas train through the farm.
Trees. Trains. Hot Chocolate. YES!
We had to get a smaller tree this year since we currently live in the tiny cottage.
Small as in not fat and not 13 feet.Β Oh, y’all just wait til next year!!!
We really love taking photos on the farm,Β obviously.
Maybe I’ll convince Brian to plant Christmas Trees at the Old Haigler Inn one of these years. π
If you’re near the Charlotte area, Helms Christmas Tree farm is located within an hour of downtown – just on the other side of Lincolnton. We highly recommend for a wonderful day trip to get a live Christmas tree. Happy Thanksgiving Eve, friends.

Does the train cost extra? And are there other activities?

Hi Carrie, yes, the train is a couple dollars per child to ride I believe. There is a small gift shop as well.
