Honestly, this was a risk I wasn’t sure I wanted to take….painting our cabinets BLACK!
I’ve dreamed of them for months, yet when it came time to actually paint I feared it would be the wrong decision.
One week ago tonight I sat on the floor of our kitchen with 5 different paint samples just as confused as ever. The painters were coming Tuesday morning. As of 11pm Monday night, I still didn’t have a color. Yup. Real life here with the Haiglers.
Note: 4 out of 5 colors I selected looked EXACTLY ALIKE, ahahahha!
If you need a reminder, here was our kitchen in the tiny cottage before:
Oh, and here it was a couple of weeks after we moved in!
Now tonight, the after, or should I say in-progress:
We’ve come a long way since July, baby!
I just want to sit in our kitchen and stare. All day. Every day.
I’m SO GLAD WE DID BLACK, y’all!!!!!
Every part of me is happy.
So far, we’ve completed the following in our kitchen renovation:
-removed the decorative railing on top of the cabinets
-painted the cabinets (Sherwin Williams Tricorn Black is the color)
-new flooring (Coffee Oak by Nucore, Floor and Decor)
-quartz countertops (Calacatta)
-stainless steel appliances (Lowe’s)
Still to come:
-subway tile backsplash
-upper cabinet boxes to the ceiling
-new cabinet moldings above the microwave
We’ll keep you posted on our progress.
And also, to anyone that has lived in a home that you are renovating, BLESS YOUR HEART. This is no joke.
Most days you will find us here, doing our thang. We love making homes beautiful.
