Our kitchen situation currently:
Nice, right? There’s no cooking happening here! I can’t even warm up my fridge full of leftovers. I am the leftovers queen, btw.
We had a fully functioning kitchen until I decided to sell it all on Friday afternoon.
Within two hours of posting our appliances on FB Marketplace, we had people in the driveway ready to load them up! WOW! I still had dishes in the dishwasher y’all!!!
Now, we’re ready to start this kitchen renovation and I am beyond excited.
The stainless steel appliances are ready to be installed, the countertops have been ordered.
Speaking of countertops – let’s go straight to the warehouse where we landed on my most recent favorite.
This stone is a quartz calacatta variety. It’s more durable and long-lasting than granite, with less maintenance. This house will eventually be a cottage families can rent and we want something that will hold up well. I love the white background, with just enough grey to break it up and give definition and contrast.
The template has been measured and we’re almost ready for the install later this week. Must clean off countertops again. HA!
Also, we found this stainless steel farm sink at Lowe’s that I’m extremely happy with! We have learned that ceramic sinks do not mix well with dishes in our family. I have lost count of how many we’ve broken in the past 3 months. Stainless steel is friendlier and this farm style is a sleek modern beauty!
My inspiration for our kitchen:
Yes, we’re going with black cabinets, chrome finishes, and white countertops.
We’ll keep you posted as the renovation continues. We’re also redoing the floors (in the entire house) and so I do not want to even think about the chaos we’re about to endure. It’s gonna be a fun one, y’all!
