#thirstythursday / ______ will never be enough (you fill in the blank)

the daily Starr thirsty thursday

Have you heard the song Never Enough from The Greatest Showman?

Every time I hear these words, my soul aches a little because I know too well how true these words are:

All the shine of a thousand spotlights
All the stars we steal from the nightsky
Will never be enough
Never be enough
Towers of gold are still too little
These hands could hold the world but it’ll
Never be enough
Never be enough

Honestly, anything on this earth I choose to fill in the empty blank of my soul – will never be enough.

A new house will never be enough.
A new car will never be enough.
The perfect job will never be enough.
More stuff will never be enough.
More money will never be enough.
My children will never be enough.
Best friends will never be enough.
Being famous will never be enough.
A million followers will never be enough.

Things will break, fame will fade, friendships sometimes fall away.

There is only One that will always remain:

Hebrews 13:5-6 The Message (MSG)

5-6 Don’t be obsessed with getting more material things. Be relaxed with what you have. Since God assured us, “I’ll never let you down, never walk off and leave you,” we can boldly quote,

God is there, ready to help;
I’m fearless no matter what.
Who or what can get to me?

He’ll never let me down, never walk off and leave.

Never, never.

He’ll ALWAYS be enough – for me.
