I’ve been reading a devotional plan on the Bible App this week – Finding Rest in a Busy World by Susan Narjala.
This particular reading really hit home for me. The author is discussing Mary and Martha, two sisters hosting Jesus for a visit one day. Mary sat at His feet while Martha, oh Martha, she got all caught up in entertaining and hosting and making it all perfect for her guest.
Anyone else been there? Yup. Done that. Too many times.
Mary understood the priority that day.
Psalm 46:10 says this: Be still and know that I am God.
I love how this devotional points out the Hebrew meaning for be still – to let go of your grip, to make oneself weak.
There are so many areas in my life that I need to let go of my grip. To be still – so I can know that He is God. And I am not.
Drop the mic.
