#slowitdownSunday / putting the brakes on a busy life, part 1

the daily Starr slow it down Sunday

It’s that time of year – back to school, fall sports and activities, chasing the dwindling minutes of daylight on these final summer nights.

The past few weeks have been hectic for our family as we close out the summer of 2018. I’m ready to put the brakes on busy and stop the hectic running. Anybody else with me??!?!? Amen to the AMEN!

For the next few weeks, I’ll share simple tips on real ways our family takes time to intentionally slow down.

Tonight’sΒ #slowitdownSundayΒ reminder:

go outside

There’s something about stepping outside and letting the fresh air consume your thoughts and soul.

Going outside does something to our entire family. Our kids run wild. Nature sings an invitation for us to stop and pay attention. Even the animals know how to slow down, and we could learn a thing or two from the way they live.

Yes, he went outside in pajamas and tennis shoes. Who cares?!?!?!

I’m slowly turning into one of those porch people and gosh, it feels SO good.

When life gets crazy, we go outside.

Also, this song has been on my heart all day long. It serves as a reminder that everyday I need more of Him. Oh, how I need Him more.
