We do pasta in our family. Often. Veggie pasta (we LOVE the Ancient Harvest brand) and sauce in a jar is my jam. It takes 10 minutes to make, start to finish, it’s healthy, and my kids always ask for more. Win-win-WIN!
And this, my friends, is hands-down the best spaghetti sauce – straight from the JAR!
Bertolli Organic – Olive Oil, Basil & Garlic
It’s completely true, btw. You will ‘bring Tuscany to your table’. YUMMM.
5 reasons why this is my go-to spaghetti sauce and we always have a jar or three in the cabinet:
#1 – Your people will think you slaved over the stove for hours. This sauce is the closest to homemade I’ve been able to find. It is THAT good. I’m not speaking for the other flavors Bertolli offers. We stick to the Olive Oil, Basil, & Garlic.
#2 – This sauce is good alone, or with meat mixed in. I could even slop this stuff with biscuits. Y’all know what I’m talkin’ about. Like I said before, many nights I just heat the sauce up and add it to veggie pasta. It’s a complete meal and my kids BEG to eat their veggies when it looks like pasta and covered in Bertolli.
#3 – Our house smells like Italy. Enough said. Your people will want to eat all the food while this is simmering over the stovetop.
#4 – Even people who don’t like garlic or tomatoes will love this sauce. Brian, for example, doesn’t like garlic or tomatoes (weird, I know). He adores this sauce. It’s not over the top – the mix of flavors is juuuuust right.
#5 – It’s organic and in a glass jar. If you do any kind of research, you’ll quickly find facts relating to organic foods being better for us. You’ll also find that tomatoes and sauces prepared and stored in glass jars are not as toxic as those in cans. This is why I love this sauce. Also, I watch for the sales at our local Harris Teeter. They run this item on special pretty often and then I stock up.
