#thirstythursday / listening to that still small voice and being obedient

the daily Starr thirsty thursday

I’m here tonight on this #thirstythursday to remind you of two things –

#1 – God still speaks through a still small voice.

#2 – God answers PRAYER, Y’ALL!!!!!

The past few days have brought situations where I cannot deny that God is involved in the smallest details of our lives.

A friend that had an urgent specific need in her life reached out to me and asked to join her in prayer for her family. We prayed. And we prayed some more. AND GOD SHOWED UP AND SHOWED OUT!!!

Why are we somehow surprised when He actually answers our prayers?? I’ll admit the answer caught me off guard!!

She was obedient and took a step in faith to ask for help in praying. Now we are both incredibly encouraged at God’s faithful delivering power. Yes Yes YES!

Tonight, I taught a class at our office that I was not scheduled to teach originally but had to change on the schedule with someone else. Honestly, I thought about canceling – we’ve got too much going on, no one will show up, I have too many other things to do, it’s summer, we shouldn’t even have night classes…

These are the thoughts that ran through my head.

But – I could not get away from a feeling that I needed to teach anyway – even when I felt like doing a thousand other things. Call it a still small voice that just said – “Go.”

Oh my goodness gracious. God orchestrated a class that blew me away. He put three ladies together to basically have CHURCH at the office. We were all astounded at the circumstances that brought us together and how there was no accident of our meeting tonight.

That still small voice had a purpose and a plan.

All we have to do is listen and be obedient. I’m living proof that He is still there and that He still cares.

This old song has played on my Pandora station several times over the week and it still speaks to me.

What do you need tonight? Tell Him. Pray about it. Fervently. Be obedient. Listen to the still small voice. His hands are holding you.

Why are you looking for love?
Why are you still searching as if I’m not enough?
To where will you go child?
Tell me where will you run, to where will you run?

’cause I’ll be by your side wherever you fall
In the dead of night whenever you call
And please don’t fight these hands that are holding you
My hands are holding you

John 14:13-14 Living Bible (TLB)

12-13 “In solemn truth I tell you, anyone believing in me shall do the same miracles I have done, and even greater ones, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask him for anything, using my name, and I will do it, for this will bring praise to the Father because of what I, the Son, will do for you. 14 Yes, ask anything, using my name, and I will do it!
