#funfriday / the day we got a cat…and then it ran away

the daily Starr fun friday

Welp, earlier today we surprised the kiddos and did something I said we would never do…we got a CAT!

Don’t the kiddos look SOOO EXCITED!??!! Hahahah.

You have to understand, Kayla is practically terrified of any animal. Part of getting a cat was to help her get over that fear. I was the exact same way as a child and my dad did the EXACT same thing.

I said we would never have animals, I’m allergic to dogs and cats. Now that we have land, I want a cat outside for one reason – to chase away other animals and rodents I do not wish to see.

We left with our new kitten, not even knowing if it was a boy or girl. We stopped by Target to get a cute little bed, food and water bowls, and a few toys.

I took ONE photo when we got home.

Then, this happened.

Sometimes #funfriday doesn’t turn out as planned.

For now, we walk through the woods and call out for the cat with no name. And we’ll find another one if he/she doesn’t come home 🙂

  2. One suggestion, cats need to know where they belong before being let out of their cage. You might need to keep it in you garage for a couple of weeks feeding and getting to know each other. Once it knows you are the one feeding and providing water it will more than likely stay around. Praying for ya’ll!

    • Yes, we realized this too late! The other cats I’ve gotten in my life have always been tiny kittens that couldn’t run away so I wasn’t thinking about it taking off so fast! We have a screened porch, so we will take it out there next time!

  3. Oh no and it looked so small, yes I really hope you find it! It probably was frightened. and overwhelmed…I agree with moonbeam it has to know where it belongs. Try putting out food and water in the area it ran away..Hate for it to be homeless. 😦 will be praying you find it.💜
