I don’t ever plan to stop doing this one thing.
Date night with him.
The enemy would prefer that I let life get too busy in the midst of work, kids and summer – too busy to set aside time to invest in my marriage.
Too many boxes to unpack.
Too many emails to send and deadlines to meet for work.
Too many other things to fill our evenings and days.
I refuse.
1 John 4:12: “No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.”
If I love my man and take time with him, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.
Oh, how we need that.
Romans 12:10: “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”
Brian, I honor you, babe. I’m devoted to you. I want to make our relationship a priority, even in the midst of our craziest adventures yet. Thank you for taking me out to the ballgame.

That’s one of the reasons my husband and just celebrated 45 years together! We have always had date day, however that looks. After our children left we didn’t look at each other and wonder who is that person, we knew because we had spent time getting to know each other. Wonderful idea, who won the game!
