Today’s #makeovermonday features our latest home renovation – my mom and dad’s old house on Kiddle Lane!
Mom and dad moved into this home across the street from us 12 years ago. At that time, we painted the entire house a tan/gold color. This was indeed such a great home for our family and it fit them well.
This photo was our last Christmas dinner on Kiddle with mom, dad, and Joy. As you can tell, they have a few Christmas trees!!
We have lots of family pics at the table over holidays.
After they moved out a few weeks ago, we started renovating to be closer to the styles today’s buyers are seeking out.
Honestly – the painters started painting before I could even get in and get photos!!
Yes, that’s the kitchen as they started painting primer on the cabinets. For the first time in the HISTORY OF FOREVER, Brian agreed to paint nice quality dark wood cabinets. Yes. Yes. YES PEOPLE.
And here it is today –
We simply painted the cabinets and walls, then added the marble backsplash. Everything else remained exactly the same! Colors and selections are listed at the bottom of this post.
We used this marble tile and darker grout color to pull in the existing dark granite countertops. It worked so well and really brought the kitchen together.

Changing the wall paint color was TRANSFORMATIONAL in this home.

Next, we changed out the wall paint and countertops in both of the full baths.
This is where I admit that I forgot to take before photos…I know, sooo disappointing.
Brian did take one random photo –

This turned out gorgeous! Thank you for sharing pictures and the names of what you used. I had come across the backsplash in the store last night and was hoping to find some finished pictures to help make the decision. Your pics help so much, it looks amazing 🙂
