One of our 2018 Habits is to select a scripture of the week each Sunday night with our kids.
Their favorite thing is getting the white letter board and changing out the words. Everyone helps, even Brock (at least for the first 30 seconds until he got bored!).
Tonight we learned about two ways to live our lives – by giving away and by holding tightly. Each has a consequence.
It is possible to give away and become richer! It is also possible to hold on too tightly and lose everything. Proverbs 11:24-25 TLB (The Living Bible)
Like my dad always reminds me, you can’t out-give God!
Tis true, dad. Very true.
This scripture applies to sooo many aspects of my life currently – finances, time, clutter in our home, relationships, I could keep going!
The only way to live a rich and meaningful life is to give it away. If I stay stubborn and stingy, I’ll surely lose it all.
Gosh, how I want these kids to grow up being givers. We learn best from example, right?
As we begin another week, Lord help us #slowitdownSunday and keep this reminder of how you intend us to live rich lives.
