Last week on #trashouttuesday I shared our schedule for spring cleaning during the month of March.
Week 1: Living Room and Kitchen
Week 2: Office and Dining Room
Week 3: Kid’s Bedrooms and Playrooms
Week 4: Master Bedroom and Closet
ALL ITEMS NEED A HOME.
This project comes at the perfect time since we’re getting ready to pack up and move to our new property in the coming months.
This week I focused all my efforts for cleaning out and picking up in our living room and kitchen ONLY. I was tempted to work on other projects, and kept bringing myself back to the task at hand when I got distracted.
Let’s just talk about the fact that the countertop is still clean in our kitchen, two weeks after I put up this sign!!
That’s some serious progress, people!
Last night, we all tackled the disaster I’ve been putting off for longer than I want to admit – the dreaded catch-all kitchen desk. Note, I’m not planning to have another desk in our kitchen EVER!
Everyone chipped in and we had a clean desk by the end of the night.
Next, it was time to do some heavy lifting in the living room. The kids gathered after dinner and baths for our family project of the evening.
They were absolutely shocked and excited to see a bunch of empty moving boxes!
This is how Brock felt about the boxes being in the way of his beloved train track.
Yes, in case you were wondering, he sits and rides in circles around and around and around every day in the middle of our living room. Absolutely entertaining.
This is becoming so very real.
We’re moving y’all!!!! It’s starting to sink in. Our living room hasn’t looked this bare in ages. I actually like that we focused on this main room first. It keeps the fact that we’re moving at the top of my mind. And goodness, I need all the help I can get to stay focused these days!
My main goal was to get all of the decor and clutter gathered so that we can pack those items with other like items from around the house. For now, they are all sitting in our front dining room to be added to our other decor and carted to the new house soon.
Up on the schedule to clean out and purge this week – the office and dining room. Stay tuned!
