As a little girl, I grew up as a band director’s daughter. Our Friday nights were football games. Our winters always included a band concert. Summer brought band camp.
This was our life.
I chose the clarinet (first chair for a while, I might add!) and Joy chose the flute (who was also first chair, I mean would you expect anything less from the girls of a band director???) .
It’s been over 20 years since I picked up that clarinet. It’s been a few years since Joy played her flute.
We pulled those dusty instrument cases out of the closet 2 days before Christmas and decided to surprise dad with a duet. Yes, we are CRAZY!
Here is our performance – dedicated to our dad, the best band director there ever was. We love you so much!
