It’s here!!! The 2018 Winter Olympics!
Tonight we’re celebrating the opening ceremonies at home and this #funfriday has been full of Olympic themed excitement.
First, the kids walked in the door to a craft – making Olympic ring decorations for our living room over the next 2 weeks.
We draped the rings on our fireplace mantle and they look perfect!
Next, we made our Olympic ceremony headpieces.
Brock was all smiles – he LOVES family projects!
This is me with no makeup left after a loooong week! Anybody else relate??
While I got dinner together, the kiddos decorated their own Olympic cookies.
We used store-bought cookies and icing and a mix of skittles and M&Ms to get our colors for the toppings.
Our appetizers before dinner were Olympic torches – made of sugar cones, vanilla almond yogurt mixed with coconut whipped topping and stick carrots.
For a special surprise, I found these Korean inspired meals at our local Publix. Yes, they are frozen meals. No, I’m not sorry for having a meal of frozen dinners!!
For the record – the EatingWell meal was MUCH better in my opinion. Also for the record, our kids won’t eat Koren inspired food. HA. They had leftover food from the fridge. I actually loved the meals!
We also tried these superfood veggie cakes. I used this example to share with the kiddos how the athletes have to eat foods that are good for them in order to be in the Olympics. Yeah, they still didn’t like these either. I loved them!
Next, onto the absolute FAVORITE surprise of the night.
An Olympic ring fruit platter!!
We might just make this platter all the time, even when it isn’t the Olympics! Y’all. We ate the whole thing.
Our platter included blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, diced mango and green grapes.
Yep. No short supply of sugar here tonight.
Everyone was glued to the opening ceremony as we ate our fruit.
We also had a surprise left on our front door this afternoon with all sorts of Olympic activities!
Did you know they make Olympic Oreos?!?!?
Our surprise gave instructions to eat the Oreos during the opening ceremony. So, we did. Yep. More sugar. They will be up for hours bouncing off these walls!!
We’re gonna enjoy every possible minute of the next 2 weeks!

What absolute fun. Did they enjoy the 5 children that took us through the ceremony? I thought it was spectacular.
