Introducing our newest flip house – I’m calling it the cute brown house on Beverly Drive.
It won’t be brown for long…we’re brightening it up as we speak!
First, let’s talk about this kitchen. I have a love/hate relationship happening right now.
before
Several things going on here.
#1 – blue countertops.
Brian knows me well and thought my gut reaction would be to rip them out. True.
BUT
Y’all. These blue countertops are QUARTZ! And if you know anything about Quartz, well, it ain’t cheap.
I couldn’t justify ripping these bad boys out knowing how much money that was throwing down the drain. So, we’re gonna see if we can make them gorgeous.
Next, the cabinets. They are FANTASTIC quality cabinets. The color is a little off, and we can absolutely fix that.
I did a ton of research for this kitchen and decided we were going to go two-tone on the cabinets. White uppers and then a dark gray on the lowers. I thought the dark gray would help blend in the blue quartz and could look lovely.
Next, I knew we needed to try a different backsplash. There was already a white stone in place and it made me know I didn’t want to do our typical white subway tile.
In order to pull in the blue quartz, I wanted to try something totally different from our normal style. Think more like a modern Spanish inspired kitchen!!
Here is what we found at Floor & Decor:
It’s called Vestige Natural and is available for $2.99 a sq foot – which is a STEAL! Especially for the amount of tile we’re gonna need in this kitchen.
There is just enough blue to pull in the countertops and I think the style is calm enough to appeal to a wide range of buyers. The problem with going too crazy and non-neutral in flips is the possibility of turning off buyers. We don’t want that at all.
Okay – so here we are. Got the tile, picked out the colors for the cabinets…
And then.
Well, Brian told me the painter didn’t get word we were changing things up and he already painted the cabinets the normal grey color that we do in every other flip house currently.
Alrighty then. Y’all. I’m kinda loving it!!
Cabinet Color: Mindful Gray SW 7016 by Sherwin Williams
This is still a work in progress and Brian totally gave me the option to have the cabinets painted the colors I wanted. I’ve decided to hold off. I want to see that tile go up and the flooring put in. I still might change my mind. HA!
It already looks a thousand times better!!
Even with blue countertops 🙂
In case you’re wondering, here are a few more images of the house we’re working on. It should be completed in just a few short weeks and I can’t wait to show you the transformation.
Stay tuned! This one is going to be beautiful!

So cute! I love that you are using some of what is already there because it makes sense financially!

Thanks, I feel as though we need to be good stewards and throwing expensive countertops in a dumpster did not feel very responsible 😉
