#trashouttuesday / the day we said goodbye to Kylie’s angry tonsils

the daily Starr trash out tuesday

Instead of saying goodbye to our clutter for #trashouttuesday, today we said goodbye to Kylie’s angry tonsils!

Our smiley Kylie had surgery first thing this morning and she was such a trooper!

The surgeon said she was perfect and all went as planned.

Now, we’ve spent the day at home resting.

Kylie sure is lucky she has a little brother to entertain her 24/7! She also has full control of the TV remote and that makes her pretty happy.

Then, there’s the endless supply of ice cream!! The Dr. gave strict orders that she could have ALL she wanted. He even suggested she just get an entire carton to herself, lol.

Meanwhile, Brock is preoccupied with all things train.

Mom and dad got this train several years ago for the girls and since our tree is too big for it to fit around currently (y’all don’t laugh), we let him get it out today and play in the middle of the house. He’s in train heaven.

As for this mama, I’m super thankful for the timing of this surgery. My mind and body need some time to sit and rest. Our little girl needs her mama to sit and do just that for a few days and I’m more than happy. Sometimes God chooses specific paths for very specific reasons. We can fight and resist or we can sit and delight. Tonight I choose to sit and delight and to be quiet.

The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing. – Zephaniah 3:17 ESV

It seems He always knows when we need rest the most and when we won’t necessarily be strong enough to admit it. Anyone else have a hard time slowing down?? Lord, quiet my soul tonight.

Prayers for Kylie’s recovery are truly appreciated, friends!

  1. Dear Abba, Kylie is in need of your healing hand. We place her in your strong healing hands. You are able and we surrender her to your care. We praise you Father for all you are doing for this sweet child. Thank you that there is not a nano-second she is out of you sight and care. Be with mom and dad as they love and tend to her, give them your peace and let them know you are with them healing their beloved child. we love you Lord. In the precious and mighty name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

    1. Thank you for this amazing Prayer, Maggie. We’re so thankful for the prayers. Kylie had a rough day and we are asking God to touch her body right now. Thank you again!
