#shareitsaturday / in memory of Glennie the Great – cookies and cranberries

the daily Starr share it saturday

If I could pick one item that was my VERY FAVORITE thing Glennie the Great would cook – just for me…

It would be THESE:

You’re looking at a fresh batch of peanut butter RITZ crackers dipped in white chocolate. Y’all. Just shut the front door.

It’s simple, really.

RITZ Crackers
JIF Creamy Peanut Butter
White Chocolate Baker’s Bars

Note: If you don’t use these exact ingredients, I’m not responsible for your cookies not being absolutely delish.

I brought in the cooking expert because I seem to struggle in this area of life.

Yes, Grammy to the kitchen rescue.

Brian actually helped too.

And Joy.

As for Brock – well, we handed him his own bowl of peanut butter and a handful of crackers. HE WAS HILARIOUS!!

He enjoyed himself, obviously. Glennie the Great would have just laughed and laughed at him!!

It helps to melt your chocolate bars over a double broiler pan. I only know what this is because it came with my pots and pans set. HA!

Then, just make your cookies with the peanut butter in between two crackers and dip them into the chocolate.

Set them on wax paper and let them dry for several hours – or overnight.

6 bars of chocolate gave us 42 cookies. You may be able to get a few more out if you keep the chocolate over the stove and let it melt a little more. Since the kids were helping us, we didn’t make them over the stove.

My job was to take photos of the experience. And decorate the kitchen while they worked on the cookies.

These decorations happen to be my favorite holiday decor (besides our giant Christmas tree).

Buy fresh bags of cranberries at the grocery store (they are 2 for $4 right now at Harris Teeter) and put them in jars with water. Then, put a tealight candle on top. Simple. Beautiful. Gorgeous.

They will last for weeks if you’ll change the water out and pull out any cranberries that start to get smooshy.

My favorite mini-mes + my favorite decor + my favorite cookies:

The white dishes belonged to Great. We light these candles in her memory tonight. Oh, how we miss you so!
