So, this really happened today:
I think Brian was trying to tell me something…
Guys, real life has been crazy busy over the past few weeks. Our house has taken a back seat to other priorities and it was driving me crazy. Today was the day. The day to tackle the disaster that has become our front room. Goodness, it feels like this happens EVERY YEAR at this time.
Here we go – real life – walking in our front door. This is what it looked like. And if you had come to our front door, I would have asked you to kindly wait on the porch. For an hour. Or two.
Wow. And this is actually AFTER I had been cleaning for a little while (I forgot to take before photos until about an hour in….ooops).
We actually had a happy birthday banner on the wall above the lamps – from August – Brock’s birthday. It was still there. Until today.
And then there are the client gifts that I’m working on, praying they get in the mail in time to be delivered by Saturday.
Volunteers??? Tomorrow is project-get-this-stuff-in-the-mail day. Come visit if you’re bored. For real. I will PUT YOU TO WORK.
With a little help from Brian, we tackled the front room this afternoon. And by help, he sure did put the trash can on the front porch and advised that I was more than welcome to fill it up.
HA! He’s so funny.
It feels so much better now.
Ahh, we do have a table!
And a beautiful floor.
And I do still have a desk!!
Don’t mind the darkness. It’s late ya’ll. I should redo these pictures in daylight…nahhh…real life. Remember??
My favorite part of today’s #makeovermonday would be this:
I have all of these trees we’ve collected over the years and honestly, I didn’t want them scattered all over the house. I wasn’t feeling it. So, here they are all on the bookcases in our dining room. I like them all together – it’s like a wintery forest.
For the record, I’d totally invite you in if you showed up on our doorstep tomorrow. Yes, we could sit and talk. At least in the front room where it’s clean!!
Today’s piece of advice – spend 2 hours picking up stuff. Your entire perspective will change. I already feel like a huge weight is lifted off. Even if the other rooms are still a real life mess 😉
Oh, and I just noticed those lamp bulbs aren’t matching colors. That drives me NUTS. Time to switch them to match. LOL.
