I had today’s #funfriday adventure all planned out – a nice quiet evening at home doing Christmassy stuff like baking cookies and wrapping presents and sitting around the giant Haigler Family Christmas tree.
THEN – the kids begged to go to Parent’s Night Out at their afterschool…
We don’t usually miss too many Friday nights with our kiddos – and Brock was ALL about going to school with his big sisters – just to play basketball!! HA!
So, we gave in and let them go.
As for Brian and myself – well, we did what any normal old people do on Friday nights without kids. Dinner at the fish camp and Wal-mart.
Oh, yes. We sure did.
To redeem our coolness, I would like to say that we did actually have fun last night attending the KLove Christmas Tour in Charlotte.
Y’all. We met STEVEN CURTIS CHAPMAN. My inner-90s-kid-self was super geeking out.
Steven has his hand on Brian’s arm!!! Look at that, why don’t ya!!!!
Oh, and a lady named Plumb was there.
And our new favorite band – We Are Messengers. They are from Ireland and might be some of the most beautiful people we’ve ever met. They spoke directly to our heart in ways I can’t even explain to you right now. I was in tears. God used this band last night to encourage us in unexplainable ways towards our dream for the Old Haigler Inn.
Steven closed the show out and he’s still got it. 30 years later. Wow!!
The concert went pretty late, which is why the blog took a back seat last night. And I’m totally ok with that.
If the KLove Christmas Tour is coming anywhere near you – GO SEE IT!!!
For now, Brian and I leave you with a beautiful scene at our church. We’re here on our Parent’s Night Out finishing up some last minute details for our program on Sunday morning. If you don’t have a church home, we’d love to see you at 11am for a beautiful morning of worship.
