Surviving Thanksgiving – Starr’s Tip #1

It’s that time again – the most thankful week of the year!

HA!

If you’re anything like me, the thankfulness can easily be forgotten in the midst of stress, last minute details, and procrastination (I’m the queen, btw).

This year I thought it might be helpful to remind myself to focus on what matters most – and let those things that don’t matter go.

Introducing a mini blog series for the week…

Surviving Thanksgiving – Starr’s Tip #1

Don't cave into the pressure to be Master Chef.

Just say no.

Listen, people. Cooking might be your thing. You might just be the next Master Chef. If so – GO AHEAD AND DO YOUR THING!! By all means. We will eat your food and love it. I promise.

For the rest of us, I’m giving you permission to take it easy.

Here are my go-to, no-fail, easy-as-pie recipes that EVERYONE in our family loves. Feel free to copy them. They will think you slaved away for hours in the kitchen. You will not. You will stir things in a bowl and it will be heavenly.

Click the links below to go right to the recipes.

#1 – Corn Casserole (or Corn Puddin’ as my family in Alabama calls it)

#2 – Pineapple Cheese Casserole – from my Mom – and she’s an AMAZING COOK!

#3 – Freida’s Fruity Fluff Salad (aka Ambrosia Salad) – people ask for this recipe constantly. 5 ingredients, people. FIVE.

Also, Sam’s Club has the most amazing fresh baked cherry pies for $10. They totally got me at the front door with the free samples. I walked out with 3 pies. Yes, I sure did.

Yay for less stress when it comes to cooking and surviving this Thanksgiving!

Stay tuned, I’ll have Tip #2 tomorrow.

  1. Well we are still waiting to decide what we will do, eat out or I cook. Waiting on you know who to say what they would like. Eating out is sounding better and better.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

    • I vote for whatever is easiest for everyone 🙂 Get the entire family to chip in with a dish so you don’t have to cook it all! Happy Thanksgiving to your entire family. We love you!
