I couldn’t stand it any longer.
Everywhere you turn, Christmas is appearing. It makes this girl HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!!!
Surprisingly, we don’t make our annual trip to the Christmas tree farm until the day before Thanksgiving. [Shocking]. I know.
Of course, we have been known to leave our tree up past April…or longer.
Tonight’s #makeovermonday project is all about officially bringing Christmas to the Haigler house for 2017!
Here was our family room mantle as of 8pm.
Yes, y’all. It’s been a struggle. I haven’t decorated our mantle since….maybe last Christmas. HAHAHA. It’s just sat with that white metal piece and the struggling plants since Februaryish.
Time to take it all down.
Brian helped me put together the white metal IKEA tree we found for $20 last fall, since I wanted it to be one of the main focal points for Christmas 2017.
Sorry, folks. It sold out within days last year. I tried to go back and buy more for friends and they were GONE. Not sure if they have brought them back in 2017 yet as I haven’t made a trip to IKEA lately. Brian says ALL THE PRAISE HANDS STAY AWAY FROM IKEA STARR!!!
The other two pieces I wanted to incorporate:
2 fake wreaths.
And just for good measure, we got the bin full of random fake greenery.
After pulling out some of the fake greenery, I was NOT feeling that look. I wanted more natural and this stuff wasn’t cutting it. Literally.
Out I went to our backyard. I started cutting branches off our bushes and trees. Yes, I sure did.
I’m IN LOVE!!!
I just sat the wreath up on the mantle and started adding branches to the existing fake wreath. AND IT EVEN SMELLS LIKE CHRISTMAS!!!!
Yes. The branches may dry up. No worries. I’ll go and cut more.
I may just go cut more branches and put them all over our house.
The other piece I wanted to incorporate for this year is our olive wood Nativity from Jerusalem.
It feels special having its own little wooden stand.
Christmas is here.
If you need me, I’ll be sitting here in the low light of our living room, smelling the fresh cut cedar branches and sipping my apple cider.
Lord, you can fill my mansion with cedar branches from the backyard of heaven. 🙂
