we’re BAAACK – #1wordwednesday [SUMO] as in sumo wrestlers

the daily Starr blog Starr haigler 8

Y’all. I. Cannot. Stop. Laughing.

#1wordwednesday is baaaack and today’s word = [SUMO], as in sumo wrestlers.

This video is from Sunday night at our church’s annual trunk or treat. My sister and Chloe came as the sumo twins and this just made my entire year.

Why would I choose this silliness as today’s word?

2 important reasons actually –

1) We all need to remember to laugh every day. Amen to the amen. Let me hear the church clap…let me hear the church clap…

2) I want my kids to grow up knowing we can have fun at church and enjoy life! Memories like these will hopefully help them look back on their childhood with joy and know that mom and dad made it a priority to be in church – and it was never boring!!

Kylie drew this picture on the way home from choir practice tonight and somehow I think God is already answering my prayers –

I am Kylie Haigler.

Church.

The house of God.

Yes, y’all. Yes.

We don’t need all the programs.
We don’t need perfect people.
We don’t need mega crowds.
We just need God’s people coming together as a community of believers living to love and lift one another up.

THAT is what I want my kids to be part of and to grow up embracing when they make decisions of their own when it comes to church.

Let me hear the church clap…
