Several weeks ago I heard Renee Swope speaking at a women’s conference and she said something that I could totally relate to.
Renee talked about how she’s always struggled to read through the entire Bible.
Me too, Renee. ME TOO!!
Here’s where she really got my attention –
She said, “But I can listen to the entire Bible!!! I just play it in the car on the Bible App! It’s free and easy and I can listen to the Word of God while I sit in the carpool line and run errands.”
YES!! YES!! YES!!
Today, I took Renee’s advice and listened to the Bible on my way to choir practice.
Y’all.
You can pick the translation of your choice and listen away!! Find the scripture you want to start with and then click the little speaker icon in the top right-hand corner next to the font icon.
My short ride to choir practice covered the first 11 chapters of Psalms!! This is incredible.
Can I tell you something?
It is completely hard to get mad at someone that just pulled out in front of you while listening to the Bible. Completely.
Some of the chapters had worship music playing behind the narrator. I love love love love this.
Listening to the Bible as I drove along changed my attitude. I was frantic with a computer issue and choir music hours before practice. Riding along listening to the scriptures changed my heart and calmed me down.
I need help learning to calm down more often than I want to admit.
Listening to the scriptures is another way I’m learning to #clearthestage.
