Twice a year, we take a break from the ordinary and go on a mini family vacation.
Did you know? The beach is so wonderfully quiet in October!
The past few days have been exactly what our family needed.
Our mini vacation tradition is simple and slow.
We don’t have a schedule, we barely plan dinner (usually K&W Cafeteria almost every night!!), we don’t rush from one thing to another and that’s exactly how we like it.
Simple. Slow.
We slept in. We stayed up late. We talked. We took long walks. We laughed. We played putt-putt. We sat on the beach and took long deep breaths.
Ahhh, breathe.
This time of refreshment is like an oasis each spring and fall for us to catch our breath and recharge for the busy seasons ahead.
This is how our family works to #clearthestage.
Fight the urge to stay busy and overwhelmed. Carve out time to sit still and breathe. Sometimes I forget how wonderful that truly can be.
