I’m not afraid to admit – sometimes you just need to ugly cry.
That’s exactly what I felt like earlier this week.
Circumstances in my life weren’t going as planned and I was hurting. All I wanted to do was cry big alligator tears, crawl up under the covers and sleep for a week.
Then, I eventually opened my Bible app and read this:
Did you see those very first words?
Let my cry come right into Your presence, God.
In that moment I knew God was okay with my ugly cry.
Sometimes we need to realize the weight of this world we’re carrying on our shoulders and take those tears to a father that can handle them.
Inside my heart, I felt a shift.
A shift from feeling hopeless to hopeful.
Being in His presence changes me.
Let praise cascade off my lips.
Immediately I knew I needed to praise God in the midst of my biggest disappointments. No matter what outcomes there are, He’s in control.
God’s got this, Starr.
Ugly cry and all.

I cry often about many things. Amen sister. Cry them big tears. Everyone of them are the blood drops Jesus she’d for us.
Love you Starr.
