My new self-imposed rule is to not start a new #makeovermonday project until I finish all those unfinished projects lingering throughout our house.
Case in point – this high chair I painted (dare I say) almost 2 years ago.
I didn’t have time that night to finish painting the back before sending the blog out. Ehh, no big deal. I could finish it later…
Now almost 2 years later – here it sits.
I wish I were joking!!
Time to paint the chair, Starr.
The paint is a Valspar color sample I picked up at Target (remember, almost 2 years ago – who knows if they still have it in stock!!). The shade is Valspar Encounter #539017. If you can get your hands on one of these little sample bottles, they cover furniture SOOOO GOOD!!
Tadaaa!
For kicks and giggles I decided to set the timer to see how long it would take me to finish the chair.
I sure am glad I waited 2 years to paint this chair that took me all of 42 minutes!!!!
Since it was only 4pm and I was feeling all motivated with my finished chair, why not finish another project??
Last week I finished Brian’s nightstand that only had 1 pitiful coat of paint for over a year. Anyone see a pattern here with my painting??
Then, I took a photo of what my side of the bed looks like.
Yikes!! I had a friend ask me, “What is all that stuff???”
I don’t even know.
Why don’t we just call it my “collection of things.”
Time to tackle the collection and clean out, Starr.
For 100% transparency – here is the zoomed out view of my side of the bed as of 4pm this afternoon. It’s super tidy and luxurious, just as you’d expect.
First, I cleaned off the desk and sorted “my collection” on our bed.
You need it, I GOT IT!!!
Then, I had to come to the realization that I’d been using this little corner as a dumping ground for all kinds of stuff. It had gotten REAL bad, y’all.
Yep, all that hidden in the corner. My desk was just so…usable.
Not hardly.
Time to reclaim the corner.
I brought back the nightstand beside the bed and my lovely “animal” chair so many of you commented on, lol.
This project took WAYY longer than anticipated. I decided to sort items and get rid of crap, so I’m not actually finished yet.
And then there’s the laundry that needs to be put away.
Ahhhhh, any volunteers???
Meanwhile – this one empty wall proves that I’m in-fact becoming a true minimalist.
Oh wait, never mind. This is what it looks like under my side of the bed.

I love that you paint the furniture where it is! I am a-fraid! I always move outside, but then that does add time. Maybe next time I’ll be s rebel and paint it where it sits…maybe π

Hahah I used to do that!!! Then I had some major pieces I couldn’t move by myself and I just started painting wherever! I take towels and cloths and put underneath and it works so well! It also helps that the paints I use don’t have a smell, so we aren’t all driven out by the fumes! Do it! Be a painting rebel!! Hahaha!
