Hi, I’m Starr.
I love to start new projects….and then I have a hard time finishing.
That’s why I made a self-imposed rule for #makeovermonday projects going forward. No more starting new projects until I finish all the unfinished ones in our house.
And we have SOOOO MANY unfinished projects, y’all.
I present to you exhibit A.
My nightstand was painted in February 2016 (that’s a year and a half ago for those of you counting).
Well, here’s the truth behind that project. We have 2 nightstands. And I only had time to finish one of them for the blog that night.
Brian’s nightstand got a start – with one lonely coat of paint.
You guessed it. A year and a half later…there’s just been that one lonely coat of paint. And it looks TERRIBLE now.
Brian has reminded me more than once of this unfinished project.
Today that changed!
Should I admit to you that the gallon of paint was STILL sitting behind the nightstand??? Yes, it was a bit dusty. Okay. It was a lot dusty. At least I wiped the dust off so you can read the label. You can still see the dust collected in the top ridges of the can…hahahah!!
The color is Sherwin Williams Balanced Beige – SW 7037. The color is mixed into one gallon of white primer. I don’t sand or anything, I just paint directly onto the furniture.
Also, I should disclose that I made my bed just for this photo. We don’t make our bed daily…or weekly…or monthly. Yearly? Yeah, that’s more like it.
While I had a few extra minutes waiting for the paint to dry on the nightstand it was the perfect time to clean our room. That’s always Brian’s #1 request in our house. Please clean our room, oh dear goodness help me.
And my sister always wonders what it REALLY looks from the other angles of the room. Here you go.
See how neat Brian’s side of the bed is??
Here’s mine currently.
He is SOO LUCKY TO HAVE ME!!
At least our life is always an adventure š
Do you have unfinished projects in your house? Start today. Start small. Start with 1 thing. You’ll be so glad you did. Then you’ll have the motivation to move on to the next one. We can do this!
