#thirstythursday / one of the dangers of having a lot of money

the daily Starr thirsty thursday

This quote has stuck with me long after reading…

from the C.S. Lewis And The Call To Create devotional in the Bible App

Somehow we think money will solve all our problems. Somehow the enemy has us fooled.

Here is the truth – we are at every moment totally dependent on God.

C.S. Lewis was so right. Lord, don’t let us forget that. Ever.

This verse for today’s #thirstythursday aligns exactly with his words of wisdom –

Luke 12:15 (TLB)

15 Beware! Don’t always be wishing for what you don’t have. For real life and real living are not related to how rich we are.”

Our real life is not related to our paycheck.

Our real life is not related to everything we don’t have.

Our real life is totally dependent on God, and God alone.

We need GOD. I need GOD.

God, tonight I ask You to help me live in this moment, grateful for everything I have. On the days when life seems overwhelming and so much seems out of reach, I pray that You’d show up and remind me of who You are and how dependent every detail of my life is upon You.

Let me find YOU in this season of my life.
