FAMILY CAMP 2017 Day 2 – a picnic with the airplanes

We’re back for day 2 of our annual Family Camp!

We spent the morning being lazy (our favorite thing on Sat mornings) and then cleaning the house (our most un-favorite thing always, ha).

After Brock’s nap we packed up to get in a few hours of swimming at our local aquatics center…

Then it started thundering before we even made it out of the car to walk into the water park. Some days just don’t go as planned, but that’s OK!

Our second part of fun for Family Camp Day 2 was a dinner picnic with the airplanes at the Charlotte airport overlook.

And the sun came out as we drove to part 2, thank goodness!

The clouds came back but we were dry to have our picnic on the back of the truck while the planes took off.

Brock was more excited about the blueberries haha!

The airport overlook is one of our favorite free things to do in our local area. Just search Charlotte Airport Overlook and you’ll find directions to watch the planes come and go from the perfect vantage point.

Our pointers – drive a truck if you can and bring lots of blankets and pillows to watch on the back. Snacks always help to make the airplane show more fun. We had fruit cups in fancy plastic cups with blueberries, apples, chips and water 🙂
