This mirror came with our Rooms To Go bedroom set 13+ years ago.
Side note: I’m pretty sure it weighs 100 pounds. For a while it stayed connected to my dresser.
Then, one day I decided I didn’t want it on the dresser any more and for the past 9 years we’ve moved it from room to room, hiding this monster of mirror wherever it would fit. I’ve had plans to paint it…but just never got around to it. Anybody relate???
For the past year it’s been in Brock’s room behind his dresser. Then as of the past week it got brought out of hiding and placed against the dining room table.
Finally – it’s time to PAINT THE MIRROR for today’s #makeovermonday project!!
I never use painter’s tape – but this project demanded that I do things right. It actually took longer to get the tape on than it did to get the first coat of paint, lol!!
Here we are after one coat of paint. No sanding, no priming.
Time to go pick up kiddos for the afternoon, I’d have to finish this project when we got home later.
For this project I used Amy Howard at Home One Step Paint in Palmer Pink.
One more coat and the mirror was finished!
Brian helped me get it hung on the wall and here weeee go:
The mirror is intentionally placed low for 2 reasons. First, I want the girls to be able to see themselves when they are performing (lol, hilarious, I know!!).
And #2 – I have plans to put additional pieces of artwork towards the top of the wall above the mirror.
The kids LOVED the new addition to this playroom makeover that is in progress.
What none of us knew at this point was that Brock had a massive poopie explosion coming out of the back of his diaper.
Take a look at this next photo…
Brock is smooshing around the poop on his back and Kylie has started to realize something stinks very badly.
And that would be why tonight’s blog is later than normal, haha! It’s always an adventure at the Haigler house. That’s for sure 🙂
Stay tuned, this playroom makeover is coming together and we’ll have another peek next week at how we’re transforming this space with a fun design and look!
