#funfriday / you never know what will happen in your own backyard

the daily Starr fun friday

We’re so thankful for the sunshine on this gorgeous #funfriday!

It’s been a week full of rain and it was nice to spend some family time in our own backyard.

Several weeks ago on our trip to Locust, Kylie and I picked out a bird feeder at the hardware store. We’ve never had one, so we’re super excited! Then, it rained all evening and we weren’t able to get it all set up. Tonight was finally the night!

The kiddos had fun filling the feeder with bird seed.

Brock thought it was more fun to spread the seed across the yard, hahah! The birds are gonna LOVE us!!

After we finished putting up the feeder, Brock took off running towards the woods to explore.

None of us expected what happened next…

You guys!!! 3 of the most adorable baby kittens came crawling out of a little bed that their mama made in the brush. They can’t be more than a week old.

Kylie was smitten with the kittens, to say the least!

And they seemed to love her too!

I mean, really – who wouldn’t love these babies!!

What a fun surprise in our own backyard to start the long weekend off right!

If you need us we’ll be cleaning all weekend to prepare for actual real people to come over for a cookout….whew, y’all pray! Ha!!

  1. We have 4 feeders and a hummingbird feeder. We have so many birds. They will go through 25 lbs of feed in a week if I keep feeding them. I resolved to feed them only twice a week. Absolutely love watching them. God has given us beautiful scenery right in our backyard….enjoy.

So what are you doing with the kitties? Hummmm????
