{Fear}
It can be crippling.
It can bind us so tightly that we feel the clinch of the chains dragging our souls in a downward spiral.
Before we even realize what has happened, we become slaves.
We quickly lose control, feel consumed and {FEAR} takes over.
Have you been there?
Me too, friend. Me too.
I’ve feared for the future. I’ve feared of past mistakes that haunt my mind. I’ve feared of things far out of my control. I’ve feared that we wouldn’t be able to make it financially. I’ve feared that our bad decisions would impact our family and business. I’ve feared that I wasn’t enough and that my weaknesses would make me fail those who depend on me most.
Don’t ever think your fear is dumb. I was telling a friend earlier this week about one of my fears – I don’t park in my garage because I have a fear of my car blowing up and exploding into my house. Well, and the fact that we have a garage full of stuff really limits the ability to get a car inside. But still. I’m serious. That fear is super real in my life.
I fear walking into my door most days that our home will be destroyed by fire or theft or whatever. I don’t speak those fears, but I’d lie if I told you they don’t run through my mind.
Fear is real. And the enemy is working day and night to make us drown in our fears and emotions. He’s smart and knows the tricks to play, y’all.
There’s more to the story. There’s so much more than you think, and fear is certainly not the end.
Here’s the good news:
I’m no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God
In moments when we fearfully forget, these promises ring true.
For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. Galatians 3:26 ESV
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. … Romans 8:14-19 ESV
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. Psalm 56:3
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
Your fear may be taking over today and it may seem like there is no answer. Here is my challenge for you today, right now.
When you don’t know what to do – stand. Stand on these promises. Read them over and over. Put these words on repeat so that they overtake your mind and perspective. Post these scripture truths all over your walls, in your purse, in your car, ANYWHERE. Get up in the devil’s face and show him that you’re no longer a slave!!! You ARE a child of GOD!
I mean, don’t you remember??
You split the sea
So I could walk right through it
My fears were drowned in perfect love
You rescued me
So I could stand and sing
I am, a child, of God
YES! Whatever battle you’re facing – He drowned those fears in perfect love, all while splitting the sea so you could walk right through it.
Stand and sing, “I am, a child, of God.”

Just repeating the words, “I am a child of God” brings strength. I love the song. It seems the older I get the fear seems less and the word FORWARD takes its place. Looking forward to seeing, being with our Father! Thanks for being so open.
