#thirstythursday / people tend to criticize things they know nothing about

the daily Starr thirsty thursday

I started a new free 6-day devotional plan last night on the Bible App called, “Improve Your Attitude” – mainly because I’ve found myself needing to do just that lately.

Ohhh, yes. There is sooo much room for improvement in this category. Just ask Brian.

Anywho. Day 1 caught my attention and I’ve had this first paragraph on my mind all day long.

Did you see that?

Criticism, many times, stems from ignorance. People tend to criticize things they do not know anything about.

Well, ain’t that the truth, y’all!!!

Here was my reaction after reading that line: YES YES YES allll the yessssesss – they SURE DO!! ALL THE TIME, ALL THE PEOPLE, ALL THE IGNORANCE.

Then.

I kinda sorta felt God say, “And that means you too, Starrletta.”

Oh.

Wait.

Me too???

Nooo. Surely not.

But, goodness gracious. I do.

So many times I make assumptions and form opinions on things I have NO CLUE about. Who am I to do that?? It’s not my job. Oh, what a reminder this was for me.

Skipping down to the end – I love the call to action.

Be a person who is known for always seeking to lift and bless, not speaking evil of whatever you do not know.

Wow.

Just WOW!

That is what I want to be. How about you?

Let’s not be like unthinking animals and bring about our own destruction. Let’s be the ones that lift and bless. Amen!
