#1wordwednesday / {FINDING} God’s will when it feels like a maze

the daily Starr blog Starr haigler 8

This past week a door closed on one of my dreams.

Actually, it was slammed shut.

That’s okay. I truly mean that with all my heart.

We’d been waiting in limbo for what seemed like ages and I’ve been patiently asking God to either clear the path before us, or slam the door shut if we needed to move in a different direction.

And well, slam that door He did.

God still answers prayers, even if they aren’t the way we really wanted them to be answered.

I now have the choice to sit and sulk about the answer to my prayer, or strap on my boots and get ready for the adventure that is ahead.

Here’s the thing: {FINDING} God’s will can sometimes feel like a maze.

Sometimes you go down a road that is closed or a dead end. You have to turn around and find another way. Still, there are things you learn in the maze that teach you, mold you and make you into the person God has created you to be.

I’m standing in the maze right now when it comes to my dreams. I’ve tried one route that turned out to be that dead end and now it’s time to try another. I don’t want to tackle this maze alone.

I’m asking God for wisdom and understanding and to put my feet on the right path.

These reminders are keeping my perspective fresh as I’m {FINDING} God’s will for my dreams.

These scriptures come from one of my favorite little books – God’s Promises & Answers For Your LIfe.

God is faithful to instruct us and teach us the way we should go when we’re searching.

Seek and ye, shall find.

Whatever you may be searching for in your life tonight, I pray that God gives you all the wisdom and direction that is needed and that you find light for your path ahead.
