#makeovermonday / our latest fixer upper – the 2nd Cottage on Coventry

the daily Starr makeover monday blog

It’s been just 4 short weeks since I shared with you the BEFORE of one of our newest fixer upper projects. You might remember the “cat” house, haha!

Just to be clear on the background – named the “cat” house after that odd little porcelain cat figurine hanging by the entrance to the storage building. I wanted to keep it. Brian said, “NO!” There were no cats harmed during the renovations and the cat figurine is cute – so don’t send me hate mail about cats. Ok? Ok!

This adorable fixer upper is right down the street from another house we tackled a few months ago. Remember the first cute cottage on Coventry?

This owner contacted us with interest in taking on another project on the same street and we couldn’t wait to get started!

Here we go with our 2nd Cottage on Coventry:

If you’re like me and LOVEEE to see a good before and after, well – you’re in for a treat! This one is soooo good, y’all!

Let’s start with the kitchen because it’s the most dramatic change.

I simply cannot get enough of this kitchen. It came together so well. This area is spacious, has great lighting and I would love to have this kitchen as my own. We replaced the bubble florescent light (one of my biggest pet peeves ever…whyyyyy do they make these hideous lights??) with recessed can lighting and it really changed the entire space.

The cabinets are the same, just painted. We added granite countertops, subway tile and stainless appliances. The flooring was updated throughout the entire house. All selections and colors are at the bottom of this post if you’re interested.

The breakfast/dining area is lovely.

On to the main living area. Remember the ceiling fan with the missing blade? Wonder how that worked out when it was turned on??

The master bedroom and bath also had quite the transformation.

Not sure what was going on with this paint in the master bath….you can come to your own conclusion on that because I don’t have one!

We got rid of the bright colors in the secondary bedrooms.

And finally, the guest bath:

This #makeovermonday project might be one of my very favorites.

It’s hard to believe we could see this kind of transformation in one short month! This adorable cottage hit the market on Saturday and after 16 scheduled showings and multiple offers, we’re happy to be under contract – wooohooo!

Thinking about tackling your own makeover project? Here are the colors and selections used in this project listed below.

Meanwhile, if you need us we’ll be cheering on our Carolina Tarheels in the National Championship tonight!!! Go Heels!
