#makeovermonday / family project in 30 minutes – the disaster also known as our daughter’s bedroom

the daily Starr makeover monday blog

Am I the only one that walks into rooms and somehow this has happened AGAIN??

The disaster also known as the bedroom that our daughters sleep in. Obviously, they are skilled at creating beautiful messes such as these.

So, for tonight’s  #makeovermonday project I summoned the entire family upstairs to tackle this room TOGETHER. And we only had 30 minutes before bedtime.

Everyone got to work. And we did it.

Their bedroom is a work in progress as it is full of projects yet to be completed.

So many of you ask how I never run out of projects – and here you go:

That beautiful vanity belonged to Glennie the Great and one of these years I will paint it to match the dresser over in the corner.

Then, there’s this monster of a black piece that also needs to be painted white.

I also need to figure out what to do to hold all their stuffed animals. They create the biggest disaster. We got rid of over half of them, but still. They create huge messes. Right now they are all in a box in the hallway until I figure out a solution. Stay tuned.

And if you have any solutions for storage of stuffed animals in your own home, I’d love to hear about it!

Facing a disaster area in your home? Call your entire family (or invite over a friend to dinner and tell them payment is helping you for a 30 minute cleanup!!).

Ask for help, give everyone a job and make it happen quickly!

You’ll feel better and have motivation to move on to the next room. Brian says the next room should be ours, lol.

  1. A friend of mine has a daughter who has an over abundance of “stuffies.” AKA stuffed animals. I saw a make over thing on Facebook and shared with her the bean bag idea. So, she got rid of half her “stuffies” and still had enough to fill TWO bean bag bags. She says it worked out great! Lexie just switches a few out she wants to play with. The rest stays inside the bean bags and she can even lay on them. (She just went to the store bought 2 bags minus the filling)

  2. When my daughter was young they made a pet sling that you put in the corner to put stuffed animals in. She had 2 in one corner that we put her least favorite in the top and most favorite on bottom. She could pick 2 to play with but she had to put up the same number she took down each night. It was a pink mesh material. Before I fround that I put up a couple of clothes lines in the corners with clothes pins to. clip the stuffed animals onto.
