Y’all. If there is one thing I could shout from the rooftops (especially for today’s young generation), it would be THIS!
I couldn’t agree more with what’s underlined above. We need trusted and wise friends to process rejection and the hard stuff that is real life. I have one friend in particular that is that person for me. We help each other talk through the messiness. We talk each other off the ledges when what we REALLY want to do is go off on someone – online or in person!
Read that sentence after the underlining –
“The World Wide Web and social media, on the other hand, won’t be so forgiving.”
No, it won’t be.
Just try it. Post a cryptic message talking about someone or a messy situation. You’ll find plenty of people to jump on the complaining bandwagon with you, for sure. But, you’ll also find plenty of people to argue their opinions and it just never turns out well.
For this reason, I stick with my 3 I’s for posting online:
