We took our Christmas tree down this weekend. And this happens every single year.
Our living room looks weird and I get the urge to change things around.
I haven’t been happy with this wall that the TV sits on for years. It’s missing something and maybe it’s just that the TV stand isn’t right for our TV.
And we have to keep that table in front of it to keep Brock away from the controls.
Today, we moved everything out of the cabinet.
And then, I totally forgot that we’d have to DISCONNECT the entire stereo system…
Oh my word. I do not like trying to figure out all these wires.
I even took photos to try and help remember where they all went.
I wanted a bigger dresser for the TV and my mom decided to let me have the ACTUAL dresser I had as a little girl.
Y’all. This thing is 30+ years old. And it hasn’t been painted or anything!!
I may change out the handles, but wanted to give it a try as-is first.
I wish we had finished all this work before dark, but when you don’t start working til almost 4pm, that isn’t likely!
I’m sooo excited with how it all turned out!!
We moved the TV towards the corner, kind of – at least as far as the cords would move from the wall connections.
This changed the entire look of our room.
I’m not crazy about all those things on the wall around the TV, but that’s what happens when we just shopped what I had in the house within the last 45 minutes and threw it on the wall!! Real life! I’m sure it will change in the coming weeks.
One thing we will definitely be keeping is this sign:
My beautiful cousin’s wife made this for our family!!
She started her own company with handmade quality wooden signs, you can find her here on Instagram:
Meanwhile, we’re gonna just sit here in our new room tonight for a few hours. Ha!
Have I mentioned how much I love these IKEA chairs???
Special thanks to Joy and Chloe for helping me with the massive rearrangement tonight!
You can do a makeover in your house using items you already have! That’s my favorite thing to do. Find dressers and move them around. Find accessories from around the house and try them out! Don’t like it? You can totally change it anytime and you haven’t spent any money!!
