#thirstythursday / step 1 of our BIG dream for 2017 – a prayer for our future farm property

the daily Starr thirsty thursday

This is pretty scary. And ohhhhh so REAL.

Today we purchased the first official item for our future farm property (well, I’m calling it the first official piece – Brian says I’ve bought all kinds of stuff that I deemed for the farm, hahahha):

Welcome.

With open arms and open hands, our vision is to build a place where we welcome – a place of encouragement, a place that overflows with Jesus in all we do and a place where you’ll leave refreshed, restored, reconnected and reclaimed.

Today we’re spending time planning, brainstorming, researching and documenting all that God has birthed inside of us as a couple to do on this next big adventure.

There’s so much, y’all.

A barn – that’s kind of a house too – a house barn!
An annex.
A shop.
Cottages.
A cafe.

Oh, WE ARE CRAAAAZZZYYYYY!!!!

I still ride down the road and look at Brian laughing, “Are we REALLY doing this?? Are we REALLY dreaming up something crazy big that we never in a gazillion years saw for our future??”

Yes. Yes, we are.

As we step into this dream and vision, I’m asking God to lead and guide our steps, decisions and actions.

Tonight, I offer this prayer as part of our first step towards the dream we’re naming the Old Haigler Inn:

Heavenly Father,

We give this all to You. It’s really all about You, Jesus – every aspect of our lives – our family, our home, our business, our calling. From the beginning, we’ve asked You to be the center of our lives and today we stand on that truth wholeheartedly.

We ask You to open doors, open relationships and open opportunities for this dream to come alive. Give us wisdom, clarity and help us know where to turn, to the right or to the left. Be our teacher and lead the way. Don’t let us take a step without You.

Keep us humble and teach us to serve. Make us always grateful for the blessings You give. Find us faithful in the smallest tasks and responsible for everything You trust to put into our hands.

Above all, allow this dream to become a way we serve You and Your children. You’ve allowed us to be refreshed over the years in incredible ways. We’d love the opportunity to do the same for others that cross our paths, those that are broken, worn out and hurting.

We ask Your will, nothing more and nothing less. Take this dream as we offer it up to You today. Give us passion, enthusiasm and motivation to chase after You and all that You put inside our souls.

Help us welcome.

Amen and amen!

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, oh Lord, my strength and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14

  2. I love how you are seeking God’s will and not sitting around waiting for him to do all the work. You are stepping out in faith. I absolutely love this and am excited to see God work through you and your family. Faith in action!
