#funfriday / celebrating the man with the middle name ELVIS

the daily Starr fun friday

Tonight we piled into the family adventure bus and headed over the river and through the woods to my in-law’s house for a #funfriday surprise.

Yesterday, this man we affectionately call “Pappy Elvis” turned 60!

Maw-maw Shell totally pulled off a surprise family get together without him having a clue! We walked in and he had no idea what was about to happen. Don’t you just love it when a surprise party comes together and the person is actually surprised???

We had family, meatballs and cake. What more can you ask for on a fun Friday night?

Brock loves cake, by the way!

Ronnie Elvis Haigler (his real name) was born on December 29.

Ronnie’s dad, Hilton Haigler (a HUGE Elvis fan) was also born on December 29.

I love December and finishing off the month with birthday parties is our family tradition.

Also, looking at family photos on the walls is always entertaining. Look at this hot stud-muffin of mine back in high school:

Y’all are SOOO jealous, I know!!!

Tonight, I want Ronnie to know this:

There could not have been a better example of how to be a father and husband than you. I am forever grateful for the way you taught Brian to love us so well. Thank you for teaching honesty and integrity. Thank you for instilling a work ethic. Thank you for always making us laugh. Your family and legacy lives on and you are loved so much.

Happy Birthday, Pappy Elvis!
