No, we didn’t do any Black Friday shopping today. Instead, we met up in Asheville with some of our Tennessee family for a #funfriday first ever family trip to the Biltmore House!
I haven’t been since I was a little girl and we had such a fun time spending the day taking our time to tour the house and gardens.
Did you know? The Biltmore House is the largest privately owned house in the United States! It has 135,000+ square feet of living space…whoa!!
My favorite part of the tour, you might ask?
CHRISTMAS!! Of course!
As a matter of fact, I’m pretty sure we found our Haigler Family Christmas tree for 2017:
I think it will fit, but we might need to measure before we bring it home…
And oh, the grand staircase y’all!!
They had me at the garland.
And who wouldn’t want a library like this??
Or a “breakfast room” with a breakfast table like this:
That table just makes me want to have more kids, hahah!!
SShhhhh don’t tell Brian.
We had a ton of fun touring the mansion – which includes, by the way:
43 bathrooms (WHOOO would want to clean 43 bathrooms…really)
an indoor swimming pool
an indoor bowling alley
and a partridge in a pear tree!
Wooowwwzers. It was spectacular.
And to think it was all built in the late 1800s is unreal.
So, if you aren’t aware – kids 9 and under are COMPLETELY FREE!!! So grab your stroller and take the family. Parking is even free and there are shuttles. There is a reduced price for kids 10-17.
My only warning would be if you take a bigger double stroller like us it might be difficult to navigate. We had to do some stairs and carry the stroller at times. But, it worked out nicely still.
Brian is such a trooper – coming along with a bunch of girls!!
But I think our entire group from today agrees that our real fun was had outside the house where we walked the gardens and took tons of fun photos!
Y’all!! There are SOO many fun places to take photos. Bring your camera and a tripod for sure!
Did I mention we loved the gardens???
And seriously. This happened too.
At least they got 1 shot without Brian photobombing…
Even Brock and Kylie enjoyed the ride – most of the time anyways.
And at the end of the day, we stopped for one last photo in front of the house on the way out.
This is the photo where we have the camera low on the tripod trying to hide all of the shuttle buses behind us loading people to the parking lots. True story.
And mom took the camera to get our family in a photo for our first visit…
Except – we had to remind her there were 2 kids she was missing in the shot – lol!
This beat any day of shopping times a million. Indeed.
Oh, and kuddos to the Biltmore. They had a SOLD OUT crowd today and we didn’t wait in long lines at all!! The visit schedule times online truly help to keep waits at a minimum.
Happy weekend, friends!
