If you’ve watched social media this week and you follow Chip and Joanna Gaines of HGTV’s Fixer Upper show, you know 2 incredibly big things happened – their annual Silobration, and just yesterday, the release of their first book, The Magnolia Story.
This post from Joanna caught my attention and has stuck in my brain:
Chip and I are so thankful for this weekend and all the support and encouragement from everyone at the #silobration . We hope our guests left the Silos feeling hopeful for things to come in their own lives. When I step back and look at all this- I am amazed at how a quiet dream in my heart has turned into this place. I opened my little shop on Bosque in October 2003, and when I decided to shut it down a few years later to stay home with my babies, I felt like the dream was over. Now 13 years later, I realized God saw my dream and couldn't wait to take it to the next level. It was actually in the waiting where I learned the most valuable lessons that I am thankful for today. I never thought my dream would be this, any of it. I just wanted a tiny shop on Bosque where I could help people with their homes. He had other plans. If you have a dream- know there will be push back, there will be critics, and there may even be loss… But keep hoping. It's coming. #thankful #october
But keep HOPING.
God sees our dreams, friends.
It may involve push back or critics or loss or incredible pain.
He knows and He has a plan.
I’m encouraged by watching Chip and Joanna. I’m encouraged by how real they are and how they share their story and their faith.
Y’all – 13 YEARS AGO – that’s when she started it all. And it died in between now and then. And it came back as more than she ever dreamed. That just amazes me at how God has a mighty plan.
Keep HOPING, y’all.
Have you thought about your dream lately? Have you written it down? How about share it with a friend? Take some time this week to put words to that dream. God has a plan and we can just keep HOPING.
