#slowitdownSunday / promises and a prayer for healing

the daily Starr slow it down Sunday

Healing.

God promises healing is available to us – over and over in His Word.

When I’m needing healing in my body, mind or soul – I go back to this little book full of promises directly from the Bible.

Side note: I love seeing the names of friends I’ve written in my book over the years when they needed prayer for something in a certain season.

Healing for our bodies.
Healing for our souls.
Healing for our nation.
Healing for our minds.
Healing for our families.
Healing for our churches.
Healing from the Father – coming down from above.

Heavenly Father, tonight I pray for healing in so many ways. First of all I pray that you would invade my mind and change my heart to draw closer to You in ways I’ve never imagined. Cause me to think about things and people in a different light – a light that comes from You. When I’m faced with decisions, let my mind filter them through Your Word and prayer. Secondly, I pray for healing in my family. We’re all battling sickness. Sometimes it seems petty to pray for coughs and sneezes and runny noses. It all seems so small in the big picture of life – when there are those in our own state that have no home to return to because of flooding. God – You know the healing we all need – in big and small ways. And Lord, You love us all just the same. You care about every single thing we are facing. You hear our cries. Let us remember to draw closer to You and in return You have promised to draw closer to us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Oh LORD my God, I called to you for help and you healed me. Psalm 30:2
