There once was a family with 120 stuffed animals (or more…who knows).
I wish we weren’t THAT family.
I feel like this should be a “where’s waldo” photo – except it’s where’s Brock??
We are THAT family and tonight I decided it was time to do something about it.
And these beautiful souls got pulled into the chaos that is #trashouttuesday because they had to make the hard decisions of what stays and what goes.
First of all, I had no idea we had 120+ stuffed animals. They were scattered between bedrooms, playrooms and more. Everyone helped to gather and drop them in the floor of our girls’ room.
We originally counted and there were only 98. ONLY 98. Geez.
Then, I told Brian we were missing a doll that I knew we had 2 of, so he headed down to the playroom only to find 2 more bins FULL of dolls.
We started going through them one by one, the girls picking out what they absolutely wanted to keep.
Meanwhile, I pulled out the sentimental items – baby gifts, and even a few of my own baby dolls.
Brock did not help.
Actually, this process made everyone mad. Kylie wanted to keep every single item because she LOVESSSS that one!!! Really. Not joking here.
I’m happy to report we cut our stuffed animal supply in HALF tonight at the Haigler house.
All these, going to donate and maybe sell a few of the nicer ones online. That’s 60 in that pile!!
Brian is doing a happy dance RIGHT NOW.
Brock got to keep 20 – well, I picked them for him. This is all the ones I will hold onto and let them have when they grow up and move out one day. Roll eyes here. Please.
Believe it or not, the girls ended up with 20 each! It was a process. Poor Kylie, she had 24 and just couldn’t give up any of them. I could feel her pain. She just couldn’t depart with any of her special treasures. I mean, doesn’t everyone need 9 different Minnie Mouse dolls???
Big sister to the rescue. She actually had less than her 20 item allotment. Talk about a servant – she took on some of Kylie’s favorites just to keep them in the family. Proud mama moment here.
That girl doesn’t even care for Minnie. Way to go, Kayla!!! Just like your mama. Keeping stuff you don’t need just to help someone else out…HAHAH!!
I really have no idea where they get this love for stuffed animals from.
I’m sorry, Brian 🙂
Too many stuffed animals (or anything else) in your house? Gather ALLLLLL of them. Every. Single. Item. Count it out. Come up with a reasonable number to keep. Struggling to know how much is too much? Start with half. You’re on your way to less!
