We’re back at the country fixer upper on this edition of #makeovermonday!
This cute little house has 2 full bathrooms – one for the master and one for the secondary bedrooms.
Here are the before shots:
Master Bathroom in the country fixer upper
Hold on for a second. Did we notice the old phone with the cord hanging above the toilet??? I just couldn’t resist pointing that out.
Ok. Moving on.
Secondary bath in the country fixer upper
Both bathrooms were dated and the vanity tops needed replacing. The wood was bad in several spots as well and we decided to totally gut these out and replace with vanities that are more furniture like.
The 2 replacement vanities we selected both came from Lowe’s. I love going to Lowe’s and finding vanities. It’s like a game for me. I watch them – I LOVE finding the displays when they are about to get rid of them. I’ll even go from store to store to find the best deal because the prices are totally different depending on the location!! And there always seems to be some kind of sale. If you watch this department, you can find EXCELLENT deals on vanities that all come in one piece, ready to load onto your truck!
I mean literally, they help you load them onto your truck!!
The allen + roth series at Lowe’s are some of my current favorites. They are a great style and you can find super deals.
NOTE: Be careful when shopping for vanities. Some come with the tops and some do not. Always clarify the contents of the box before you purchase. Don’t be fooled into thinking you’re getting the entire contents and it’s just the bottom. The price can double when you have to purchase a top separately.
We also replaced the flooring in both bathrooms. The bath tubs themselves remained with no changes.
First, let’s see the AHHHMAZING results for the master.
Because I like the shock of a good before and after – here is that before again.
Pretty stinkin’ fantastic, right?? I want this bathroom now.
The floors are a white tile from Lowe’s. It is Futuro White.
Here are a few other shots – full disclosure, I only had my iPhone and it was night time, so these photos are not the best quality.
This vanity is extremely large – coming in at 61 inches and almost 300 lbs. I’m not joking. The top is granite and this is one of the largest we’ve ever installed in one bathroom. I debated on getting two separate vanities instead, but I’m glad we went with the one big piece.
Next, let’s move to that secondary bathroom.
Remember the before?
This vanity also came from Lowe’s and had to be super skinny to fit the space. It worked perfectly and I love the clean traditional look.
The raised feet on both of these vanities give them an upscale look, without breaking the bank.
Now, do I dare tell you there was one more missing piece to the master bathroom makeover??
Yes. Goodness, yes.
That’s another project for next week. Stay tuned!
All in one vanities are a great investment for any bathroom makeover. Most home improvement stores carry a variety of styles and sizes. Watch this section for regular sales and discontinued displays to be deeply discounted. Make sure you purchase a vanity with a top included to get the best value.
